About Anzal Begum
A story of resilience and generosity that still changes lives
Her Story, Our Inspiration
From humble beginnings and great adversity, Anzal Begum lived a life defined by quiet courage and compassion. After losing support, she toiled in sewing factories to raise her children alone, yet she always extended kindness to others around her. Her life became a testament to resilience, empathy, and service.
When she passed in 2008, her values did not fade. The foundation was born to continue her legacy, turning her personal journey into a collective mission.
Her Journey
Anzal Begum’s life wasn’t easy. Widowed and without support from her family, she faced numerous challenges but refused to give in. She dedicated herself to providing for her children through hard work, and to helping neighbours and strangers alike.
Even amid hardship, she gave, distributing food, clothes, and hope, embodying humility, generosity, and unwavering faith.
The Birth of the Foundation
In honour of her memory, her sons founded this organisation to carry forward her vision. Today, the Anzal Begum Foundation brings dignity, opportunity, and relief to those in need, rooted in Anzal’s values.
Our work spans disaster relief, clean water, livelihoods, food support, orphan care, and community outreach.
